Friday and Saturday (6-7/12/19), the Quality Assurance and Education Development Institute of Mataram University (LPMPP Unram) held a Quality Culture Seminar and Quality Assurance Work Meeting with the theme “Cultivating Quality Towards Mataram University Excellence and Competitiveness”, at the Golden Palace Hotel. Chairperson of the Committee Dr. Sitti Latifah, S.Hut., M.Sc.F when submitting a report said that the Culture Seminar and Work Meeting held was a follow-up to the quality declaration made by all elements of leadership at Unram at the peak of Unram’s 57th Anniversary on October 2. We can make this Quality Culture Seminar a momentum together for the achievement of Unram’s Vision and Mission as well as part of improving Unram’s performance and ranking, “he said. Declarations at the University level, Unram also makes declarations at the Faculty level are also required. There are 9 faculties, postgraduate and 3 study programs under the rector who have made quality declarations.

Vice Rector of Unram for Academic Affairs Agusdin, SE, MBA, DBA who represented the Rector when opening the event said that the Rector was committed to making quality a culture so that there needed to be a joint commitment to build a culture of quality at Unram. “There are two cultures according to what I understand, namely those that are created and created, so far the culture is more dominant which is created not created, we will try to create this culture structurally,” he explained. The Doctor of Business Administration added that the formation of a quality culture needs to be planned well from the start. LPMPP Unram has a quality assurance team that will form a quality culture within the University. “Hopefully this seminar and work meeting will produce recommendations and agreements in order to implement the motto in our institution,” he concluded.

Prof. Aris Junaidi, Ph.D as the Head of the Quality Assurance Directorate of the Ministry of Education and Culture who was appointed as a resource person said that the Higher Education Quality Assurance System as a system integrates three pillars or standards, namely the internal quality assurance system (SPMI), the External Quality Assurance System (SPME) or Accreditation and the Higher Education Database (PDDikti).

“It must be noted that one standard with another standard must always synergize,” he explained.  The mandate of the Higher Education Quality Assurance Law is that students must be able to adapt, be able to develop their potential so that the existence of these students will be useful for the nation and state.
