Mataram – The Institute for Quality Assurance and Educational Development (LPMPP) of the University of Mataram seeks to prepare for international accreditation or certification for both study programs and campus institutions International accreditation or certification is a parameter in ranking or clustering universities. Therefore, a socialization was held to meet Main Performance Indicator (IKU) 8, namely the International Standard Study Program (Prodi). The campus held a socialization of international accreditation development online, Wednesday (21/4/2021). The Chancellor of the University of Mataram also encouraged study programs accredited with the title B, to carry out reaccreditation to obtain a superior title. He also requested that potential and ready study programs, both accredited A and B, prepare themselves for international accreditation or certification.
“Study programs that have received accreditation with the title A can be upgraded to superior through the conversion supplement instrument,” he explained. Mataram University has allocated a budget for five study programs that are potential and ready for international accreditation / certification, he continued.
According to him, the development of accreditation at Unram will be directed to superior national accreditation. International certification in the form of AUN-QA for study programs or institutions and ISO 17025 for laboratories, and international accreditation.
Unram has also formed a university accreditation team for international accreditation preparation. The 9th Unram Rector also assessed that in order to prepare study programs and institutions towards international certification, Outcome Based Education (OBE) needs to be adopted.
“As one of the requirements that must be met, adjusting the internal quality assurance system to the OBE paradigm, mapping the initial condition of the study program, and assessing the adequacy of the required data and documents,” he explained. The study programs that are potential and ready for international accreditation will be given technical guidance and assistance. Especially in preparing documents and requirements that must be met.
In line with the rector, Head of LPMPP Unram Lestari Ujianto said there were three directions for the development of Unram accreditation. First, the development of accreditation of study programs and institutions towards superior rankings. So it is hoped that friends at the study program service unit level will continue to strive to improve accreditation ratings towards excellence, he added.
Second, the development of international accreditation. Meanwhile, the third development direction is the development of international certification through AUN-QA for study programs or institutions,” he said.
